Single Sign-on/Network Authentication Working Group

Minutes of meeting held October 25, 1994.

ATTENDING.

	Alex Garthwaite, Lila Shapiro, Emily Batista, Norm Morrison, 
	Chris Hiester, John Yates, Shumon Huque, Andrew White, Mark 
	Litwack and Jim Johnson.

MEETING SUMMARY

Mark presented a proposal specifying how Network ID and Password 
management will be handled in the modified PAS system.  The group 
provided feedback that will be incorporated into the design.

Jim will need volunteers to help identify multi-user hosts on campus 
that are candidates for participating in authentication/single sign-on.  
Currently working with Todd Seelman from DCCS on the best way to 
filter the data available from the Host Name Assignments Database 
into manageable segments, that can be turned over to volunteers.  
Once determined, volunteers will be solicited, and provided 
instructions for collecting the needed information.

Norm reported that he has received a file of usernames from 
Wharton.  He will analyze and post statistics to the group.

The group agreed to change the meeting schedule from each 
Tuesday, to the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.  Meeting 
will still start at 1:00pm,  lasting up to 2 hours when needed.
