Initial options
- Outside service provider to deliver wireless services to Penn. (Outsource like remote access)
- Design for a very large deployment of wireless in virtually all Penn buildings and outdoor spaces
- Limited wireless deployments using schools and/or center funding.
Initial factors
- 2-3 years ago there was not an outside vendor capable of doing a full outsource solution for Penn.
- There were no central monies available for a full deployment.
- Lack of security was an issue.
