Super User Group

The Super User Group facilitates information exchange among those within the University of Pennsylvania community who provide technical support, service, or IT direction. Membership is open to those at the University and in the extended Penn community with a strong interest in computing and information technology at Penn.

Information exchange and technical support are facilitated through monthly meetings and a distribution list. Past meeting content is also available.

The group meets from Noon until 1:30 PM on the second Monday of each month.

Next Meeting

June 8, 2009 - Cloud Computing and Information Security

Houston Hall - Ben Franklin Room (rm. 218)
12:00-1:30pm
Brown bag lunches welcome.

Is cloud computing simply fluff, or is it something your competitors are using to gain strategic advantage?  Can it be secure and private?  Learn how utility computing may fit into your computing needs and drive down costs.  Get an overview of clusters, grids, clouds, volunteers, botnets, networked game consoles and other solutions for compute-intensive problems.  Compare cloud storage with older network-based storage technologies.  Focus on security and reliability issues.
