June 8, 2009 - Cloud Computing and Information Security
Houston Hall - Ben Franklin Room (rm. 218)
12:00-1:30pm
Brown bag lunches welcome.
Is cloud computing simply fluff, or is it something your competitors are using to gain strategic advantage? Can it be secure and private? Learn
how utility computing may fit into your computing needs and drive down
costs. Get an overview of clusters, grids, clouds, volunteers, botnets,
networked game consoles and other solutions for compute-intensive
problems. Compare cloud storage with older network-based storage technologies. Focus on security and reliability issues.
