Penn’s I2 costs lowered by:
- Buying a fixed amount of bandwidth from MAGPI. (100 Mbps in FY2003).
- Increasing % of traffic diverted from more costly Internet pipes.
- Beginning to bill substantial consumers of I2 capacity (over 5-10 Mbps regularly) for services.
- Developed a unique “on-demand”, scaleable bandwidth model to support periodic, intensive bandwidth consumption.
