Internet2 is a consortium led by over 200 universities working in partnership with industry and government to develop and deploy advanced network applications and technologies, accelerating the creation of tomorrow's Internet. The aim of the Internet2 project is to recreate the original partnership among academia, industry and government towards the three-fold goal of: creating a leading edge network capability for the national research community; enabling revolutionary Internet applications; and ensuring the rapid transfer of new network services and applications to the broader Internet community.

If you're familiar with Drew Carey's "Whose Line is it Anyway?" improv show, one segment is called "Scenes from a Hat."  Audience members supply ideas which are pulled randomly from a hat for the actors to improv.  Our options won't be as funny, but should be more informative.

Our first question will be, "What are the things that incoming students are expecting and what technology do Penn students use most often?" Meagan Kozhimala and Stephanie Young, two Penn students who are part of Penn's College House Computing ITA program, will join us to help us better understand technology at Penn from the current, full-time student point of view.

We'll also have updates on the Computer Connection's Back-To-School Computer sale and changes to Penn's DNS.
