Webmail Evaluation 2000 - User Interface Test Form

Your account for testing purposes is your account on spinner.isc-net.upenn.edu. e.g., yetter@spinner.isc-net.upenn.edu

To restore your mail spool on spinner:
  1. Using SSH, logon to spinner.isc-net.upenn.edu
    If you don't have a SSH client loaded on your workstation, your mail server may have a SSH client available. Try logging in like this:
    1. Telnet to pobox.upenn.edu
    2. Type "unix" to get to a UNIX prompt
    3. Type "ssh spinner.isc-net.upenn.edu"
    4. The first time you try this, you will have to respond "yes" to the prompt that asks if you're sure you want to continue connecting.
    5. Type in your spinner password when prompted
  2. There are three sample mailboxes available on spinner.isc-net.upenn.edu
        -rw-r--r-- 1 root mail 9289162   Mar 31 06:55 bigmail 
        -rw-r--r-- 1 root mail 4069485   Mar 31 06:55 mediummail

    To use any of these files as your mail spool for testing, issue the following command from the UNIX prompt:

       cp   /var/spool/mail/smallmail   /var/spool/mail/yetter

    substituting whatever filename is appropriate for your testing for "smallmail" and your username for "yetter".

Open up a new browser window and connect to your test server and perform the following test. It is not necessary to fill in comments boxes unless you have some additional comments to make.                                   
1. Send the following simple message to yourself (with typo's):
"Nancy and David wwent to the library to study, but the books they needed were checkedout."
While you are creating the message, see if you can do all of the following with both the mouse and with keyboard commands, if appropriate:
