Removing 802.1X Configurations From Mac OS
If you have a pre-existing AirPennNet configuration from a previous installation of the Internet Connect component from PennConnect, you must remove it first and re-do its configuration by following the steps above. This also important if you have an obsolete AirSAS connection or an 802.1X connection from another university or a corporation.
- From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences... The System Preferences window appears.
- Click on the Network icon in the Internet & Network section. The window will change to show Network settings.
- Click the Turn AirPort Off button.
- From the Location: dropdown menu, choose Automatic.
- From the Location: drop-down menu, choose Edit Locations...
- Select AirPennNet and click the minus (-) button.
- Click the Done button.
- Click the Apply button.
- Click on AirPort in the left pane and click the Advanced... button.
- Click the 802.1X button along the top of the window.
- Click on the triangle next to User Profiles. Various profiles will appear.
- Select each of the existing profiles and delete it by clicking the minus (-) button.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the Apply button.
- Close the System Preferences window.
- Launch the Keychain Access application in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
- Highlight and click the Delete button for any entries with these names:
AirPennNet
AirPennNet 802.1
AirPennNet 802.1X
noc1.dccs.upenn.edu
noc2.dccs.upenn.edu
noc3.dccs.upenn.edu
Penn 802.1X
Thawte Premium Server CA
and any other entry that includes AirPennNet or AirSAS
- Quit the Keychain Access application.
- Restart the system.
