ISC Mission Statement

Penn's central computing group, Information Systems and Computing, provides technology infrastructure, leadership, and services to  the University, including:
  • Networking
  • Core administrative systems, actively in support of the restructuring of Penn's business practices Services in support of providers of computing
  • Standards and architecture, emerging technology, and support for process teams that focus Penn's efforts at the University level.

This complements the work of ISC's computing partners in the schools and units, who are responsible for:

  • Front-line support of their computing users
  • Local innovation
  • Academic and administrative systems and services that meet the unique needs of their clients

This division of labor reflects consensus reached by the campus-wide Task Force to Restructure Computing Services across Penn, which came together in the Fall of 1995, and again in 2000 to make computing services easier and more cost-effective for those who use them.
