Networking & Telecommunications Operations

Network Operations is the technical group within ISC Networking & Telecommunications that is responsible for maintaining the daily operation and monitoring of the PennNet routing core and all networks (wired and wireless) including specialized high speed research networks, and our gateways to the Internet and Internet2. They also operate the MAGPI Regional Optical Network (RON) located at 401 N. Broad in Center City Philadelphia. Network Operations also provides project management oversight on installation and maintenance of all PennNet and voice wiring and fiber optic cabling infrastructure and maintains all PennNet and AirPennNet electronics in most wiring closets and buildings across campus.

The Network Management and Operations Center (NOC) develops and manages advanced network management tools that allow for network planning and real time and remote network monitoring of PennNet and AirPennNet. The ISC Network Operations Center (NOC) is manned Monday through Friday 6:00am to 11:00pm, and via on-call during off hours.
