Data Rates: vLAN Installation and Monitoring Fees
A virtual Local Area Network (vLAN) overlays a department's existing network
infrastructure, taking advantage of the original network while maintaining
its own separate network identity. Installation of a vLAN requires reconfiguring
each piece of equipment on a customer's original network (routers, switches,
building entrance devices, etc.). In addition, maintaining and monitoring this
more complex network configuration calls for more sophisticated monitoring
tools.
