PennNet Phone is ISC's new telephone service that uses VoIP (Voice over IP) technology. VoIP converts your voice into data and transports it over PennNet. Because VoIP is digital, it offers a host of features not available with traditional analog phone service. With PennNet Phone , you can access voice mail through email, manage telephone and voice mail phone features anywhere you have access to a web browser, allow designated staff members to manage your PennNet Phone account, and search the public view of the Penn Directory using an IP phone. To learn more about PennNet Phone, please visit the Telephone Service web site .

For detailed information on each analog or digital telephone set and its specific features, please visit the equipment page of the Voice Services web site.

Meridian Business Sets (MBS)

Meridian Business sets provide flexibility to meet the needs of varying departmental organizations. Each Meridian Business set must have its own unique telephone number. This unique phone number may appear (as a non-primary line) on other Meridian sets in the same department at no additional charge.

A software only line (SOT) is also available for MBS sets. This type of line appears on only ONE Meridian Business set in a department, and is used primarily as a private line. The monthly fee for a software only line is $6.50. Please note that if a software only line is added to a second Meridian set in the department, it must be converted to a standard digital line which carries a monthly charge of $16.50.

Digital and analog set rates include line maintenance fees.

Norstar, Eagle, and Extrom System Costs

Norstar, Eagle and Extrom sets and system costs are calculated individually for departments based on the number of lines and sets in each system, and include maintenance. Norstar, Eagle and Extrom systems are end of life, legacy systems. These telephone systems will gradually be replaced by our new PennNet Phone service.  Please contact ISC at (215) 746-6000 for additional information.
