PROJECT ARTIFACTS IN THE REPOSITORY
At a minimum, project deliverables identified in the deliverable approval plan should be maintained in the project repository. The project repository not only provides a central repository for other team members to cross-reference more easily, but also ensures that critical documents are accessible (that is, artifacts will not be locked up on a project team member's hard drive). There should be a version control schema for managing project artifacts, to help mitigate the risk of rework associated with modifying the incorrect version of a document and to facilitate tracking deliverable progress and baselining.
