Integrating IT into Administrative Functions

The integration of technology across the University makes completing routine administrative tasks easy and efficient. Many common services are available day and night as self-serve applications on the Web. With online or network access, these services can be performed at your convenience, on or off campus. This "anytime, anywhere" administrative access marks every stage of a student's relationship with the University:

The Backbone of Administrative Innovation. Penn's around-the-clock administrative access is made possible through powerful, coordinated technologies. Penn's Information Systems & Computing Networking and Telecommunications team (ISC N&T) operates the PennNet campus network, providing integrated data, voice, and video communications services for the Penn community. The ISC N&T team supports several critical campus technologies, including Penn's World Wide Web server and voice messaging (voice-over-IP and analog services).

ISC N&T tracks emerging technologies and network services that could benefit research, teaching, and administrative processes at the University. Through PennNet-21, a coordinated technical study process , ISC N&T produced a technology vision document to help guide the growth of Penn's powerful data network, ensuring that it maintains the flexibility to support the applications, services, and communications devices of the future.
