Student e-mail task force establishedResponding to suggestions by students and faculty, Vice Provost for Information Systems and Computing Peter C. Patton has convened a campus-wide task force on undergraduate electronic mail. The task force will study the benefits and costs of universal e-mail and electronic bulletin boards for undergraduates and, assuming safe passage through the University's budgeting process, will plan for the services to be introduced in fall, 1992. Currently e-mail is provided by SEAS for its undergraduates, as well by ASC, Medicine, SEAS, and Wharton for their graduate students. In addition, many graduate students in other schools have access through research projects and sponsoring faculty. The task force is composed of representatives of the four undergraduate schools, the School of Medicine, the Libraries, University Life, and ISC. For further information, contact the office of the Vice Provost, 898-1787.
