PennInfo live!As we go to press, PennInfo, the online campus information service, has completed its "beta test" phase and should be officially released. PennInfo is available to anyone with PennNet access, whether by direct asynchronous or Ethernet connection, modem, or telnet access via the Internet.Ethernet-connected Macintosh computers can take advantage of point- and-click PennInfo client software. It can be obtained free, with accompanying documentation, at the CRC, via anonymous FTP to nisc.upenn.edu (filename pub/mac/penninfo.hqx), or from administrators of Macintosh networks on campus. PennInfo's first release offers a wide array of information. The headings on the main menu give an idea of its variety:
A Reference Guide to PennInfo for VT100 Terminals and Emulators is distributed free of charge at the CRC. In addition, useful information about commands and about obtaining new versions of PennInfo software can be found under the "About PennInfo" heading on the PennInfo Main Menu.
