ThinkMan's Dimension 4 is the recommended network time client for Windows XP and Windows Vista workstations with Ethernet or PPP connections to PennNet. Dimension 4 lets you synchronize your PC's clock with the University's time servers (timeserver1.upenn.edu, timeserver2.upenn.edu, timeserver3.upenn.edu).

Note: Windows XP and Windows Vista have a built-in network time clients, described here. Information Systems & Computing (ISC) has found that Dimension 4 will often give more reliable time synchronization than the built-in client.

Download

Dimension 4 is freeware. It is available for download using your PennKey and password.

Click on the download link below. In the "Save As" window, create or go to the directory in which you want to save the file, , append .exe to the file name if it is not already there, and click "Save". Open this directory, double-click the installation file, and follow the on-screen instructions accepting the defaults. After you finish, you can delete the installation file.

Configuration

This version of Dimension 4 has been configured to include the University's time servers. No further configuration is necessary.
