Van Dyke Technologies' SecureCRT is the recommended secure shell (ssh) client for Windows 2000/XP/Vista with connections to PennNet. SecureCRT supports SSH1 and SSH2. To use SecureCRT, you need access to PennNet.

This version of SecureCRT has been configured to include profiles for many of the University's mail servers.

Important note: BEN Application users should refer to the BEN Desktop Standards Document for information about text-based network access clients that have been approved for use with BEN.

Download

SecureCRT is site licensed at Penn and is available free of charge to members of the Penn community. SecureCRT is available for download using your PennKey and password.

Click on the download link below. Because of the limited site license, you will need to fill out and submit a form before the software will download to your machine. After you submit the form, in the "Save As" window, create or go to the directory in which you want to save the file, append .exe to the file name if it is not already there, and click "Save". Open this directory, double-click the installation file, and follow the on-screen instructions accepting the defaults. After you finish, you can delete the installation file.

Download lab version

A custom lab version of SecureCRT is available to users who maintain systems that multiple individuals access. This version has the "Save Username" and "Save Password" features disabled for increased security to prevent subsequent users from seeing/using the previous user's Username/Password.

Click on the download link below for this custom lab version.
