SecureW2 Enterprise Client 3.0.0 (Windows)
SecureW2 Enterprise Client is the University's supported and recommended authentication application for accessing AirPennNet via Windows. To use the SecureW2 Enterprise Client, you need a wireless networking card that supports at least 802.11b (WiFi) and preferably 802.11g. Most notebook computers come equipped with this wireless capability.
This SecureW2 Enterprise Client installer has been configured for AirPennNet.
Windows 7 Compatibility
SecureW2 Enterprise Client 3.0.0 functions correctly in Windows 7.
Download
SecureW2 Enterprise Client is available free of charge to members of the Penn community and is available for download using your PennKey and password.
- Click on the download link below. The file will download the SecureW2 Enterprise Client installer (which contains the application program and AirPennNet settings) to the desktop.
Download the 'Pennified' version of SecureW2 Enterprise Client 3.0.0 for Windows
Note: Internet Explorer users may need to append .exe to the filename after downloading SecureW2 Enterprise Client to the desktop.
- Run the installer from the desktop and follow the on-screen prompts. You will need to restart your system to complete the installation. After completing the installation, delete the installer file from the desktop.
Connecting to AirPennNet
Use the following directions to connect to AirPennNet.
Note: If your notebook has third-party software that controls your network connections, you will generally need to remove this software to successfully connect to AirPennNet. Please see your Local Support Provider for more information.
Windows XP
- When in range of the AirPennNet wireless network, locate the wireless icon in the lower right corner of the system tray. If an information bubble appears stating 'Click here to select a certificate or other credentials for connection to the network AirPennNet' click the bubble and proceed to step 5.
- Otherwise, click the wireless icon, then click View wireless networks.
- Locate AirPennNet in the list of networks and click Connect.
- Click the information bubble referenced in step 1. The SecureW2 Credentials dialog box appears.
- Enter your PennKey username and password in the appropriate fields. Leave the Domain: field blank.
- Click OK. You have successfully connected to AirPennNet.
Windows Vista
- When in range of the AirPennNet wireless network, locate the wireless icon in the lower right corner of the system tray. If an information bubble appears stating 'Additional information is required to connect to AirPennNet' click the bubble and proceed to step 4.
- Otherwise, click the wireless icon, then click Connect to a network.
- Locate AirPennNet in the list of networks and click Connect.
- Enter your PennKey username and password in the appropriate fields. Leave the Domain: field blank.
- Click the OK button. A dialog will inform you that you have successfully connected to AirPennNet.
- Click the Close button. You are now connected to AirPennNet.
- Windows Vista may ask you to select a location for the AirPennnet. Selecting Public location is usually the best choice. Windows Vista will inform you that you have successfully set network settings.
- Click the Close button.
