XpressConnect 4.0.x (OS X)

XpressConnect 4.0.x is the University's supported and recommended authentication application for accessing AirPennNet via OS X. To connect to AirPennNet, you need a wireless device on your notebook that supports at least 802.11g (WiFi) and preferably 802.11n. All Apple notebooks since 2004 have come with 802.11g with 802.11n being present in all Apple notebooks from 2006 forward.

OS X Mountain Lion Compatibility

XpressConnect version 4.0.x functions correctly in OS X Mountain Lion.

Obtaining XpressConnect

XpressConnect is available free of charge to members of the Penn community.

From on-campus:

  1. If your notebook is within an AirPennNet service area, the AirPennNet-Help network also is available. Connect your notebook to the AirPennNet-Help SSID.
  2. Open your web browser.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install XpressConnect.

From off-campus:

  1. Download XpressConnect 4.0.x for OS X.
  2. Run the installer from the desktop and follow the on-screen prompts. You may need to restart your system to complete the installation. After completing the installation, delete the installer file from the desktop.
