Update: Apple MacBookMay 15th, 2007 Apple announced updates today to its MacBook line that feature a processor speed bump, more standard RAM, bigger standard hard drives, and factory-enabled 802.11n. This update does not take the MacBook to Intel's recently-announced 'Santa Rosa' laptop platform - Information Systems & Computing (ISC) expects Apple's MacBook Pros to move to this platform first, probably sometime within the next three months. What is certainly valuable to the University community in this update is the increase in standard RAM to 1.0 GB on all configurations. This means that MacBook purchasers will have a usable out-of-the-box configuration that meets or exceeds the Lightweight Laptop and Value Laptop specifications in the newly-revised Laptop Computer Purchasing Guide without having to add more RAM. --John Mulhern III, Senior Project Leader, ISC Technology Support Services (May 15th, 2007) |
