ISC PDA Resources

Welcome to the PDA page for Local Support Providers (LSP's) at the University of Pennsylvania. This site is meant to assist LSP's with handheld computing questions, specific to the computing environment at Penn.

Handheld Purchasing Guide

Below is the link to the current handheld purchasing guide. The major changes this time around include:

  • The Value category has been deprecated, bringing the recommended categories to four.  We do not feel that the lowest end devices will provide users with the feature set that they need.
  • Hardware specifications have been removed from each category in favor of specific device recommendations.

Items of note from the last revision:

  • Stronger language in the enterprise and mid-range categories to drive users towards smartphones.
  • Demoting the value category to not recommended. This category will likely be eliminated with the next revision of the purchasing guide.
  • The BlackBerry page has been re-designed to be easier to read
