Meeting Maker / Blackberry Synchronization Configuration Instructions

These instructions are for synchronizing your RIM Blackberry based device with the MMXP server hosted by ISC. If you are not using this server, please contact your LSP or Meeting Maker administrator for your server's specific configuration instructions. This solution is only for Blackberry devices synchronizing with a Windows 2000 or XP based computer. While solutions exist for synchronizing Blackberrys with the Macintosh platform, there is not currently a way to synchronize with Meeting Maker in this configuration.

For instructions on configuring your desktop Meeting Maker client version 8.5x, visit this link

To get your Blackberry device to synchronize with our Meeting Maker server, you will need to install Blackberry Desktop as well as Intellisync for Meeting Maker. You can contact Magida Phillips to learn how to obtain a copy.

Provider Notes: This solution does NOT utilize Microsoft's ActiveSync application, rather the synchronization happens solely through the Blackberry Desktop application.
The following directions were generated with the following hardware:

  • T-Mobile Blackberry 7230
  • Windows XP, SP2
  • Blackberry Desktop, 4.0.0.33
  • Intellisync for Meeting Maker

Requirements:

  • Make sure that you have the Meeting Maker native client installed prior to going further. To download the client, read the configuration instructions or answer any frequently asked questions, please visit ISC's Meeting Maker site.
  • This configuration will require Blackberry Desktop Software version 4.0.0x. If you have previously installed 4.0.1, you will need to uninstall the software and install the older version before proceeding. Meeting Maker synchronization with a Blackberry WILL NOT WORK with version 4.0.1.
  • These instructions need to be run in this order. Failure to do so will cause connectivity problems between the Meetingmaker server and the BlackBerry device.

Installation instructions:

1. During the installation process, please make sure that you check off Blackberry Internet Mail instead of BlackBerry Enterprise Server. All other options during the installation may be left as a default.

2. Next, please install the Intellisync for Meeting Maker application.
