Connecting the iPhone to AirPennNet

These instructions allow you to connect your iPhone 3G, or original iPhone with OS v2.0 to AirPennNet wireless access points on campus. At present, users need to accept an unsigned certificate. This will be addressed in a future release of the profile.

Note: The following instructions also work for the iPod Touch upgraded to the iPhone 2.0.x Software (available for $9.95 at the iTunes Music Store). After the software upgrade, you must first establish a connection to a wireless network (such as AirPennNet-Guest) in order to download the AirPennNet connection profile to your iPod Touch. Then follow the instructions as outlined below to connect to AirPennNet.

Instructions

1. From the iPhone's Safari browser, visit this TinyURL:
2. When prompted to install a profile, tap Install
Install AirPennNet Profile

A warning appears indicating that the profile could not be verified.

Click Install Now.

Authenticity couldn't be verified
4. Enter your PennKey and tap Next.
Enter your PennKey
5. Enter your PennKey password, and tap Next.
Enter your PennKey Password
6. Once the AirPennNet Profile has been installed, tap Done.

You may be prompted to accept a certificate from Thawte.

Click Accept Certificate

Accept the certificate
8. The iPhone should now be joined to AirPennNet
