Important note: this document is designed for Local Support Providers (LSPs). The user-level Dreamweaver document is here and includes general availability, configuration, documentation, and support information. This page was last modified on Wednesday, 02-Jul-2008 07:48:16 EDT.

Dreamweaver 8.0.x & CS3 are on the supported products list for Fiscal 2009. Information Systems & Computing (ISC) expects to transition to a CS3 and above environment for Fiscal 2010, as 8.0.x is only partially compatible with the latest operating systems from Apple and Microsoft.

Some schools and units have standardized on the use of specific HTML/web authoring software applications and may not support Dreamweaver for their faculty and staff. ISC strongly suggests that faculty and staff speak to their local support provider to determine which product(s) are supported locally before selecting HTML authoring software.

Dreamweaver is commercial software that can be purchased from the Computer Connection at an educational discount.

Instructions on how to configure Dreamweaver 8.0.x and CS3 to use the University of Washington's Kerberos FTP Proxy Service are here.

Windows Vista Compatibility

Dreamweaver 8.0.x generally functions correctly in the 32-bit versions of Windows Vista, though some key combinations do not work. Dreamweaver CS3 functions correctly in the 32-bit versions of Windows Vista

Mac OS 10.5 Leopard Compatibility

Dreamweaver 8.0.x is mostly compatible with Mac OS 10.5.x. Note that Adobe will not be releasing updates for software versions older than CS3. Applications in the CS2 suite and older such as Dreamweaver 8.0.x may work, but there may be some issues and they will not be addressed. Dreamweaver CS3 is compatible.
