Internet Explorer 7.0 & 8.0 (Windows)

Internet Explorer 7.0 and 8.0 are on the supported products list for Fiscal 2010.

Internet Explorer 7.0 is currently the only version of Internet Explorer certified by Oracle to work with BEN Financials and Hyperion/Oracle Planning. Users of these systems should avoid upgrading to Internet Explorer 8.0 until support for running them within Internet Explorer 8.0 is announced or should use Firefox 3.x.

Product History At The University

The 2005 web browser evaluation team evaluated Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 in Spring 2005 and gave it supported status for Fiscal 2006. This status was continued for Fiscal 2007. The 2007 web browser evaluation team evaluated Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 in Spring 2007 and gave it supported status for Fiscal 2008. ISC phased out support for Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 at the end of Fiscal 2009.

Microsoft released Internet Explorer 7.0 on October 18, 2006. The 2007 web browser evaluation team evaluated Internet Explorer 7.0 in Spring 2007 and gave it supported status for Fiscal 2008. In late November 2008, BEN Financials was updated to work with Internet Explorer 7.0 and/or Windows Vista and this combination is now certified by Oracle. In late June 2009, Hyperion/Oracle Planning was updated to work with Internet Explorer 7.0 and/or Windows Vista and this combination is now certified by Oracle.

Microsoft released Internet Explorer 8.0 on March 19, 2009. Internet Explorer 8.0 was evaluated in Spring 2009 and given supported status for Fiscal 2010.

Windows 7 Compatibility

Internet Explorer 8.0 ships with and functions correctly in Windows 7. Internet Explorer 7.0 is not compatible with Windows 7.
