Product History At The University

Windows

The 2007 client/server email client evaluation team evaluated Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003 in Spring 2007. They gave Outlook 2007 supported and recommended status when used in Exchange environments and supported status when used in IMAP/POP environments for Fiscal 2008. Outlook 2003 received supported status for both Exchange and IMAP/POP environments. Both Outlook 2003's and Outlook 2007's support status were extended into Fiscal 2009 and than into Fiscal 2010. Support for Outlook 2010 for both Exchange and IMAP/POP environments was added in Fiscal 2011. Support for Outlook 2003 with Exchange was discontinued for Fiscal 2011 - support for Outlook 2003 in IMAP/POP environments was discontinued for Fiscal 2012. Support for Outlook 2013 was added on the release of Office 2013 in January 2013.

OS X

Support for Outlook 2011 for Exchange environments only was ramped up during Fiscal 2011. There is no intention of supporting Outlook 2011 for IMAP/POP at any point during its life cycle.

Windows 8 Compatibility

Outlook 2010 SP1 and Outlook 2013 function correctly in Windows 8.

OS X Mountain Lion Compatibility

Outlook 2011 versions SP2 and above function as expected in OS X Mountain Lion.

The current version of the Zimbra Outlook Connector can be downloaded here.
