Apple's Safari is a University supported web browser for OS X (Safari is not supported for Windows).

ISC maintains a detailed page on the specific desktop environment requirements for systems such as BEN Financials, the University's budget planning applications (Oracle EPM/Hyperion), and Webi/Business Objects here.

Product History At The University

The 2005 web browser evaluation team evaluated Safari 1.2.x in Spring 2005 and gave it supported and recommended status for Fiscal 2006. This status was extended to Safari 2.0.x running on Mac OS 10.4.x for Fiscal 2007.

The 2007 web browser evaluation team evaluated Safari 1.2.x and 2.0.x in Spring 2007 and gave them supported and recommended status for Fiscal 2008. Safari 2.0.x's status was transferred to Safari 3.0 when it was released for Mac OS 10.4.x along with Mac OS 10.4.11 in November 2007.

Information Systems & Computing supported Safari 3.2.x for Fiscal 2009 (Safari 1.2.x has been retired along with Mac OS 10.3.x). This support was updated to Safari 4.0.x for Fiscal 2010, to Safari 5.0.x for Fiscal 2011, and to Safari 5.1.x for Fiscal 2012 and 2013. There is no expectation that any version of Safari for Windows will be supported.
