ISC Zimbra for Local Support Providers

ISC's Networking and Telecommunications department will began offering a next-generation email service on July 25, 2008. This Zimbra-based service provides email, calendar, tasks and contacts.

Documentation for Local Support Providers has been drafted and posted on the Provider portion of the computing web, the Provider Notes Wiki, and Networking and Telecommunications' web site to assist local units in migrating to Zimbra. Below are links to some commonly needed documentation, but Providers should be aware more exists, especially on the Provider Notes Wiki.

LSP Support via Jabber

ISC N&T has opened a chat room on our Jabber Instant Messaging (IM) server as an open forum for Zimbra support issues, for use *ONLY* by support staff, not for end-users. The room or "group chat" is named email-help, and will be monitored by ISC N&T staff from 2:00 to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

To learn more about using the IM service visit: http://www.upenn.edu/computing/im/

When beginning to think about migrating to ISC Zimbra, Providers should start by reading the documentation posted on Networking and Telecommunication's web site:

Next, providers should read migration strategy documents on the Provider Notes Wiki:

In addition, Providers should read other technical documentation related to Zimbra on the Provider Notes Wiki

For convenience, here is a link to the Zimbra web mail client:
