RESTRUCTURING COMPUTING ACROSS PENN
Services for Providers of Computing
Pilot Project This pilot will begin putting in place a coherent
and effective set of services directed to providers of computing
support. It will determine organizational structures to deliver
those services and define performance measures, service-level
agreements, and formal ways to get customer feedback.
Pilot work to date, carried out in consultation with the steering group, has
elaborated a set of principles for
services for providers of computing based on the framework
provided by the New
Model for Computing Services Across Penn. The pilot has also
outlined five approaches to services for
providers, each with an associated funding strategy and
relevant example services from the current portfolio.
The Support for Providers Convention,
held on October 1, gathered detailed feedback from members of the
Super Users Group regarding the services providers need from ISC.
Focus groups addressed four support topics: Desktop, LAN OS,
General Ledger (as an example of an administrative application),
and Network Operations.
