Specialized Services

ISC Networking and Telecommunications offers specialized services and products to meet the business needs of University departments and centers. Please contact our customer service team at 746-6000 or service-requests@isc.upenn.edu to discuss your specific needs in detail.

Emergency Phones

Emergency telephones are available to the University community throughout Penn's campus. These phone sets are sometimes referred to as "blue light phones," named after the blue lights mounted above them that draw attention to emergency phone locations. Penn's Division of Public Safety monitors and maintains these telephone sets. They are a direct connection to the University Police Department.

Two types of blue light phones are available: a cradle phone and a push button phone. Push button blue light phones can also serve as building entrance devices. Users can either call a phone extension inside a building or press the emergency button to immediately be connected with Penn's police. If you are interested in having an emergency phone installed in your area, please contact the Division of Public Safety Leaving Voice website at 8-7297 (their non-emergency number).

Toll Free Numbers

Do you deliver a service for Penn that needs to be available to Penn affiliates nationwide? Providing a toll free number to your customers offers them an expense free way to inquire about services you have to offer. Offering a vanity number, one that spells out a word describing your service, adds to your customers' convenience. To learn more about how toll free numbers can help your Penn organization, contact our customer service team directly by calling 746-6000 or writing to service-requests@isc.upenn.edu and ask to speak with a Voice Consultant.
