Features & Options

ISC Networking and Telecommunications offers two types of voice mail service.


Featured with PennNet Phone Service is a new integrated voice mail service and web service. The new voice mail service lets you receive, listen to, and manage voice mail messages by phone, by computer, or both. When you listen to messages by computer, you will hear the exact message that was left in the voice of the person who called through your computer's speakers. The new web service, PPS (PennNet Phone Service) allows you to log in and manage certain voice mail features anywhere you have access to a web browser.

Voice Mail Feature Description
Delivery Options Choose to receive messages 4 ways: Telephone Only, Telephone and Email Notification, Email Only, or Email and Telephone. You can change your voice mail method anywhere you have access to a web browser using the PPS (PennNet Phone Service) web portal. Changes take place in real time.
Envelope Information Tells you the message number, the date and time the message was sent, and the mailbox or telephone number from which the call originated.
Extended (Temporary) Absence Greeting Makes it easy for you to record a temporary greeting when you plan to be out of the office for an extended period of time. Your regular personal greeting is automatically reinstated when you delete your Temporary Greeting.
Forward Messages Lets you forward a voice message to other mailboxes with or without comments. Currently, you can only forward saved messages to other PennNet Phone subscribers.
Leave a Message for Someone Else Lets you leave a message without ringing the other person’s phone. Currently, this feature is only available when calling other PennNet Phone subscribers. You cannot message to a traditional mailbox.
Mailbox Size

Lets you keep messages for unlimited amount of days: 99+ message capacity, 3 minute message length.

Mailbox Folders Lets you organize and retrieve messags usnig folders marked as New, Old, Work, Family, and Friends. You can store a message in multiple folders. You can also mark a previously saved messae as new. The next time you access voice mail, the message will be retrieved as though it were a new message.
Message Waiting Indicator The message waiting lamp on your phone will illuminate when voice mail messages are waiting.
Password Management Lets you reset forgotten voice mail passwords without contacting Netowrking's Customer Service. Reset passwords anywhere you have access to a web browser
Reply to Sender Allows you to instantly ring back the campus extension of the person who left the message you just finished reviewing. Must be on PennNet Phone network.
Telephone Answering Answers your phone when your line is busy or unanswered. Your personal greeting plays and invites callers to leave a message at the tone.Calls are forwarded to voice mail after the fourth ring.
Undelete Messages Allows you to undelete a message as long as you do not end your telephone session (hang up the phone).
Voice Messaging Offers speedy messaging options to minimize your time navigating within the voice mail system. View list of voice mail shortcuts.

Voice Mail Feature Description
Delivery Options Voice mail messages are available by telephone only.
Envelope Information Tells you who a message is from, the date and time it was sent, the length of the message, and in many cases, the mailbox or telephone number from which the call originated.
Extended Absence Greeting Makes it easy for you to record a temporary greeting when you plan to be out of the office for an extended period of time. Your regular personal greeting is automatically reinstated when you delete your Extended Absence Greeting.
Group Distribution Lists Broadcasts the same message simultaneously to multiple message boxes.
Off-Hours Only Provides voice mail option to caller only when user activates voice mail service. This feature is most often used to cover after hours calls, or calls during lunches or staff meetings.
Optional Caller "Escape" Route Gives caller the option of leaving a message or reaching live assistance at another extension. The "Auto-Attendant" feature must be requested in writing. Please include the following information with your request: your phone number, the extension to route to after pressing 0, and the hours during which this feature should be made available.
Message Allows you to mark messages as Private or Urgent. You can also request confirmation that a message has been received or set a message to be sent at a future time/date.
Message Waiting Indicator Dial tone stutters to indicate that a message is waiting in your mailbox. This option is available only for single line phone sets.
Pager Communication Activates your pager when a message lands in your mailbox (keeping your pager number private). The Pager Communication feature must be requested in writing. An additional monthly fee is charged for this feature because it generates a phone call for each page.
Private/Urgent Messaging Allows you to mark messages as Private or Urgent. You can also request confirmation that a message has been received or set a message to be sent at a future time/date.
