The following instructions apply to using Websec to authenticate for web applications. Websec was retired in December 2009 and replaced by a new authentication system, Penn Weblogin.

Integrating websec authentication with a java applet - an example

It is possible to integrate websec authentication with a java applet by performing websec authentication over the usual methods and sending the websec token to a java applet as a parameter. The applet can then check the token by using an application server.
  • README: Information on this package
  • javatest.java: The applet which checks the token
  • javatest.pl: The CGI script which generates an HTML page to launch the applet
  • websecServer.java: A daemon which listens for and checks websec tokens
