Wireless PennNet, ISC's original wireless service, will be retired on June
30. As of July 1, AirPennNet will be the preferred wireless service for most
faculty staff, and students. AirPennNet already covers a large part of the
campus, including buildings and public spaces that have Wireless PennNet available.
Wireless users who have not previously used AirPennNet are encouraged
to configure their systems for AirPennNet as soon as possible to ensure that
they can connect to the preferred wireless network on July 1. Please see the
AirPennNet pages for details.
Also coming on July 1 is AirPennNet-Guest, a new wireless
service for University guests. Please see the AirPennNet-Guest
page for more information.
AirPennNet is also scheduled to replace AirSAS and will be extended to SEAS
buildings, where it will co-exist with AirSEAS.
The coverage changes are shown on the wireless
coverage map for July 1, 2008.
