AirPennNet-Guest

On July 1, 2008, AirPennNet-Guest, a new wireless service designed primarily for guests with a short-term affiliation to Penn, will be activated. The guest network is also intended for people using devices that are not compatible with the 802.1X protocol used by AirPennNet, such as Blackberries and iPhones. Please see the wireless coverage map for July 1, 2008 for AirPennNet-Guest location details.

To access the guest network, users need simply launch a standard web browser and register their device at the subsequent prompt by entering their PennKey and password. Guest network users will need to re-register their device each Monday morning.

Alternative Service for Guests

Guests who prefer to use the more robust, regular AirPennNet service may do so. In order to connect to AirPennNet, Windows users will need to download and configure SecureW2 client software, which provides 802.1X authentication. Macintosh users simply need to configure their computer for 802.1X authentication; no separate client software is required. Instructions and additional information are available on the AirPennNet pages.
