Basic Adapter Configuration - Macintosh OS X version 10.3.9 and later
Mac OS 10.5
Upon its release, Information Systems & Computing (ISC) will support Mac OS 10.5 for its clients, including off-campus students, only on new Macintoshes that ship with Mac OS 10.5 pre-installed. ISC strongly recommends that all other users
adopt a "wait and see" approach, continuing to use previous versions of the Mac OS (including Mac OS 10.3.9 and 10.4.x) until the initial bugs in Mac OS 10.5 are identified and fixed.
Preliminary instructions for connecting to AirPennNet via OS 10.5 are available.

Use the Internet Connect configurator to configure your AirPort card to connect to AirPennNet.
Defining multiple wireless networks
If you access multiple wireless networks, you may find it useful to create
locations that contain specific configuration information for each network
you use.
- From the Apple Menu. Select Location, then System Preferences.
- Open the "Network" pane (icon) under "Internet & Network."
- Select "New Location" from the Location: drop down list.
- Name your location (for example "AirPennNet"). Configuration
information for AirPennNet in all areas will
be identical.
Note: Different locations may be required for access
to other wireless networks on campus. Contact your Local Support Provider
(view Faculty or Staff LSP
list) or Information Technology Advisor (view Student ITA
list) to
learn how to create a discrete location for your school or center's wireless
installation.
- Set "Show:" to AirPort.
- Set "Configure" to use DHCP Server.
- Select "Apply Now" to save this location for your AirPort card.
Switching between wireless networks
Once you've defined discrete wireless locations, you can easily switch from
network to network based on your location. To change location:
- From the Apple Menu. Select Location.
- Select the location you would like to use from your list of defined locations.
You may not be authorized to use some campus wireless networks even though
your wireless device discovers them. Contact your Local Support Provider
(view Faculty or Staff LSP
list) or Information Technology Advisor (view Student ITA
list) to
learn how to obtain access to other wireless networks on campus.
