Recognizing that the turn of the century is a serious business concern, the University of Pennsylvania is actively engaged in resolving the Year 2000 problem:
Computing hardware, software, and other devices sometimes process date information using only the last two digits of the year. During the period centered around January 1, 2000, such systems may infer an incorrect year and fail to operate as expected.
