Convener: Bronwyn Wallace, CTL Graduate Fellow, English
Location: English Department Graduate Lounge (FBH 330)
Summary: Teaching for the job market can be a daunting task. How can you prepare to teach in an unfamiliar environment? How can you best showcase yourself as a committed teacher in the limited space of a teaching demo? What can you do far in advance of your experience on the job market to develop the skills and dispositions you will need in order to successfully navigate teaching on the market? We will address these questions and more in a workshop led by two successful veterans of the academic job market, who will share their experiences demonstrating their teaching during campus visits.
All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the English department and so may be most useful to students in related fields.
Counts toward the CTL Teaching Certificate.
