Coursera Guidance on Developing a Coursera Course

Coursera offers suggestions for developing a Coursera course through a support page for instructors and a MOOC on MOOCs. These resources can only be viewed by those with instructor access. If you are interested in gaining instructor access to view these resources, even if you are undecided about whether or not you would like to create a Coursera course, please contact CTL. Instructor access will also allow you to view past and current courses.

Coursera Support Page

Coursera’s support page offers an overview of the mission of Coursera as well as very nuts-and-bolts advice on how to put a course together. This page includes suggestions and step-by-step instructions for putting the course together, including making and posting videos, creating stand-alone and in-video quizzes, setting up discussion forums, and more.

Coursera MOOC on MOOCs

Coursera also offers a MOOC on MOOCs. This is a place to watch videos of Coursera-recommended practices, to participate in discussion forums with other instructors, and to see sample quizzes, videos, and assignments from various courses.
