Egbert L.
J. Perry was born in Antigua, West Indies and migrated
to the U.S. in 1970, two weeks after his 15th birthday, to complete
his education. Two years later, after completing high school at
Riverdale Country School in New York City, Mr. Perry continued his
educational career at the University of Pennsylvania.
An honors graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Perry
received both Bachelor of Science (’76) and Master of Science
degrees (’79) in Civil Engineering from the University’s
Towne School, and a Master of Business Administration degree with
majors in Finance and Accounting (’78) from its Wharton School.
In 1990, he was elected as the eleventh graduate to be named to
the “Gallery of Distinguished Engineering Alumni” of
the University’s Engineering School.
Upon completing his education at University of
Pennsylvania, Mr. Perry accepted a position in Washington, District
of Columbia. with a large national contractor, where he stayed for
one year. In 1980, Mr. Perry moved to Atlanta to assume an executive
position with an Atlanta-based real estate and construction firm.
During the first eight (8) years, Mr. Perry held
positions as president of each of the real estate, construction,
property management and construction management operating companies.
Additionally, Mr. Perry provided executive management oversight,
and fulfilled certain management responsibilities within affiliated
retail enterprises. In 1988, Mr. Perry assumed the role of President
of the overall company. During his 13-year tenure at the company,
Perry was largely responsible for the tremendous growth of the Company,
as its annual revenues grew from $10 million to $173 million.
At the end of 1992, Mr. Perry left his position
at the company and founded The Integral Group, LLC, with a thoughtful
and deliberate focus on rebuilding urban centers, and implementing
revitalization strategies. Today, Integral is an urban real estate
development and investment management company with affiliates that
specialize in construction management and property management. Integral
and its affiliates are committed to being a premier provider of
real estate solutions in urban markets, with a focus on creating
value in cities and rebuilding communities.
Integral has developed a reputation as an innovator
in the field of urban infill mixed-use and mixed-income development,
and has earned special recognition for a number of its pioneering
projects.
In addition to Atlanta and three other cities
in Georgia, Integral is engaged in major urban mixed-use and mixed-income
developments in Baltimore, District of Columbia, Memphis, Birmingham
and Denver, and continues to be a major player in structuring and
implementing public-private partnerships.
Mr. Perry is active in a number of civic,
corporate and community organizations, and participates on the boards
of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Atlanta Life Financial Group,
University of Pennsylvania, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta,
Metropolitan Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Central Atlanta Progress,
and the Trust for Public Land, among others.
