Tony M. Salazar
is President of McCormack Baron Salazar, the west coast division
of MBA Properties, Inc., a national real estate development and
property management company, which specializes in the rebuilding
of urban communities. Mr. Salazar has been involved in the development
of nearly 3,000 units of housing in his 18 years with the firm.
Currently, he is involved in developing over 1,000 units including
two HOPE VI projects, a transit village in Hollywood and work force
housing in the City of Los Angeles. Mr. Salazar received a Bachelor
of Arts from the University of Missouri and a MSW, specializing
in Administration from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining
McCormack Baron Salazar, Mr. Salazar worked for the City of Kansas
City, Missouri, administering HUD Community Development Block Grant
Funds. He also served as the Executive Director of the Kansas City
neighborhood Alliance, a City-Wide CDC. In addition, he has served
on the board of directors of two banks, the California Community
Foundation, the Enterprise Social Investment Corporation and the
National Council of La Raza, where he served as Chairman during
his tenure.
