Dr. Stephen Danley
CURF Fellow
In a world of expertise and technocracy, Dr. Stephen Danley studies local knowledge and citizen input, and the role both have in underpinning urban policy. As a Marshall Scholar at the University of Oxford, he conducted research on neighborhood associations in Post-Katrina New Orleans while completing his Doctorate of Philosophy (DPhil) and Masters of Science (MSc) in the Department of Social Policy and Social Work. He has returned to the University of Pennsylvania (C’07) as a fellow and is working on his first book while teaching classes and advising fellowship candidates. A lover of neighborhoods and british ale, Dr. Danley can often be found observing from the back of a neighborhood meeting or discussing policy over a pint.
