Both prepare candidates academically to enter the US Foreign Service.
The Pickering Graduate Foreign Affairs Fellowships provides funding toward two-year master’s degree programs in public policy, international affairs, public administration, or academic fields such as business, economics, political science, sociology, or foreign languages.
The Pickering Undergraduate Foreign Affairs Fellowship accepts applications from undergraduate juniors and provides up to $40,000 annually for actual expenses for the senior year of college and the first year of graduate study.
Eligibility and Qualification
Applicants must be US citizens planning career with the US Foreign Services. Women, members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, and students with financial need are encouraged to apply. Application is not limited to members of these groups.
