Kelly Writers House Summer 2016 Internships
The Kelly Writers House will offer three summer internships for Penn undergraduates wishing to gain practical experience working within a busy, nonprofit literary arts center. One intern will assist our editorial team with the online magazine Jacket2, gaining experience in copyediting, art acquisition, content management, and online publishing. One intern will work for our development team, focusing on fundraising, financial tracking, database management, and outreach. A third intern will work closely with the KWH program coordinator to assist with the work of planning, archiving, and developing Writers House programs. All interns will assist with daily operations and will have the opportunity to propose a project that suits their learning goals. Please specify in your application your particular interest in one of the three internship areas: (1) editorial, (2) fundraising/development, or (3) program assistance. Please also describe what you hope to learn this summer by interning at KWH.
To apply for any of these internships, please complete the application form, along with a two-page (500-word) essay explaining your suitability for the internship and organization to which you are applying, and how the internship will help you achieve your educational goals. Along with this essay, please upload an electronic version of your Penn InTouch transcript by copying and pasting your Penn InTouch transcript into a Word document, typing your name and Penn ID number at the top of the page, and saving it as a pdf. Please attach first your essay and then your transcript in a single pdf.
