CURF helps Penn undergraduates to pursue independent research through personal advising and administration of competitive research grants. CURF advisors also assist undergraduates in finding faculty mentors and funding. To this end, CURF maintains a database of Penn faculty and researchers interested in having undergraduate students involved in their research. Recipients of the undergraduate research funding that CURF administers present their findings at student-faculty lunches hosted twice weekly.

- Summer Humanities Internships applications are due February 25.
- The Gantz Family Undergraduate Research Award supports undergraduate research projects on an episode, topic or event of important in the Arab-Israeli relationship in the Israeli, Arab and/or American media. Applications due March 1.
- College Alumni Society and Class of 1971 Robert J Holtz Award applications will be due March 1. Both cover costs of independent research projects.
- The Association of Alumnae Scholars Rosemary D. Mazzatenta Award covers the costs of research or an unpaid internship for a female sophomore or junior in The College.
- Penn Program on Democracy, Citizenship, and Constitutionalism Research Fellowships, deadline extended to April 30.
