Summer Opportunities

Summer Undergraduate Internships in Clinical and Translational Science

The Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania offers a Summer Undergraduate Internship Program. The program provides mentored experiences in clinical and translational research to students from Bryn Mawr College, Franklin & Marshall College, Haverford College, Lincoln University, Swarthmore College, and the University of Pennsylvania. Internships are 8 weeks in duration and start June 3. The program supports 12 internships. Preference will be given to students finishing their sophomore or junior year; however, students finishing their freshman year will be considered as well. Internships will be carried out at the University of Pennsylvania, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, The Wistar Institute, Monell Center, and University of the Sciences. Stipends are $4,950. The deadline for applications is February 8, 2013.

The CTSA also provides the portal for application to the Conte Center Undergraduate Research Scholars Program for students who are especially interested in research relating to schizophrenia. The Conte program supports an additional two internships. A description of the program is provided at the above website.
