Guided Tour of the Chemical Heritage Foundation, May 29, 2009

The Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) serves the community of the chemical and molecular sciences, and the wider public, by treasuring the past, educating the present, and inspiring the future. CHF maintains a world-class collection of materials that document the history and heritage of the chemical and molecular sciences, technologies, and industries; encourages research in CHF collections; and carries out a program of outreach and interpretation in order to advance an understanding of the role of the chemical and molecular sciences, technologies, and industries in shaping society. Two-minute video about the Museum.

Arnold Thackray, the Joseph Priestley Professor Emeritus of the History and Sociology of Science and the founding Chairman of the Department of History and Sociology of Science, is the President of the Chemical Heritage Foundation. Professor Thackray will join us on the tour of the Foundation. The CHF is located at 315 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

The tour begins at 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 29, 2009, and a luncheon at a nearby restaurant will be held after the tour. If you are interested in joining the luncheon group, please notify Ryda Rose at
