PASEF Luncheon, March 23, 2009

Dr. Kermit Roosevelt , Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania, will discuss "After Guantanamo". Professor Roosevelt works in the field of constitutional law, federal jurisdiction and conflict of laws. He worked as a law clerk with Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter in 1999/2000. His new book, "The Myth of Judicial Activism: Making Sense of Supreme Court Decisions" (Yale Univ. Press, 2006) sets out standards by which citizens can determine whether the Supreme Court is abusing its authority.

Professor Roosevelt has also written a successful novel "In the Shadow of the Law" about the ways in which wealthy and successful corporate lawyers handle their personal and professional problems.

The luncheon is at 11:45 A.M. on Monday, March 23, in the Lenape Room of the University Club.
