A PASEF sponsored luncheon will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, November 6, 2008.

Location: Lenape Room in University Club at The Inn at Penn, 3611 Walnut Street, Second Floor.

Dr. Brendan O'Leary, Lauder Professor of Political Science at Penn will present the topic:

How to Get Out of Iraq with Integrity

The topic is a summary of his book that will be published in January, 2009. Professor O’Leary, also Director of The Penn Program in Ethnic Conflict, has been working as a constitutional advisor to the Kurdistan Regional Government. His office is in the Kurdistan National Assembly at Erbil, as it is called by Arabs and Turks. Together with Khaled Salih and John McGarry he is editing "The Future of Kurdistan" for the University of Pennsylvania Press. He will show some pictures.

If you are not a member of the University Club, you can ask Nick Kefalides or Henry Teune to cover your bill and reimburse them personally. In fact any member of the University Club can bring one or more guests and buy their lunch. The guests then may wish to reimburse the member.

Everyone will be asked at the beginning to introduce himself or herself and give a description of their interests (in one breath).

PASEF luncheons are organized by Nick Kefalides (Infectious Diseases, School of Medicine) and Henry Teune (Political Science).
