Area of StudyMajoring in Computer Science Engineering and Finance Activities at Penn: Member and webmaster of Dischord, Penn's only philanthropic a cappella group, Wharton Women; Women in Computer Science; tutor and research analyst in the computer science department; volunteer for the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society. Other Interests: piano, swimming, gardening with the King's Court Gardening Club Why M&T?M&T just seemed like the perfect fit for me. I’ve always been interested in computer science and math but I want to work with people rather than processors. This program allows me to expand both my spheres of interests rather than confining me to just one. The network that M&T has generated is also phenomenal. In every field, M&T alumni have taken entrepreneurship and innovation to a new level. It fills me with a sense of pride and accomplishment to be part of such a vast, flourishing network. Life at PennFor me, Penn is all about the people. It has an incredible blend of cultures and talents which makes it a great environment to learn and grow in. I’ve met some of the most fascinating and fun people here. You're always hearing of the mind-blowing ideas that they’ve come up with and the incredible clubs that they’ve started. And the best part is, before you know it, you’re one of them. Plans After GraduationAt the moment, my career is an open book. Having successfully completed a research project involving computer vision for Google Earth, I am eager to pursue a future in the technology space. Yet I firmly believe that a lifetime spent looking at the world through a computer screen is a lifetime spent looking at a screen instead of a world. Ideally I would like to find a job that allows me to utilize the business skills that Wharton has provided me with, in a leading technology company such as Microsoft or Google which would also value the vast technical knowledge from my engineering degree. |
