Why M&T?

In high school, I was most interested in math, science and economics, but I had no idea what I wanted to be doing in ten years. I knew coming to M&T and gaining a background in business and engineering would give me a good range of options down the road. While searching for schools, I did not find any schools that had successfully fused business and engineering as well as Penn’s M&T. I also thought I’d really enjoy having the best of both worlds – a smaller community within the program as well as that of a larger university in an exciting city.

Life at Penn

I love that I can forget I’m in a city when I’m walking through campus to class. I also love that I can take five minutes to walk off campus and remember what the real world is like. Living in Philadelphia, I never run out of fun, interesting things to do. As if there wasn’t enough to do on campus, everyone also has access to museums, shopping, restaurants, and concerts downtown. On campus, there is a club or organization for every interest I could possibly imagine. This has helped me discover new interests that I might not have been exposed to at a different school. Finally, I really love the “work hard, play hard” environment that exists on campus.

Plans After Graduation

I want to do something that involves engineering and business, but also helps people. I am very interested in working internationally. Not sure what this means just yet, but I have time to figure it out. I do know that I am not a finance person and don’t want to do any kind of investment banking unless it is related to microfinance.
